The Beatitudes family
The Beatitudes ecclesial family is made up of priests and brothers, consecrated sisters and lay members. All the members of the Community share a common vocation of prayer, service and hospitality.
This may be expressed through retreats, spiritual guidance, and fostering a contemplative spirit in the midst of daily life. Our Spirituality is both Eucharistic and Marian, inspired by the Carmelite tradition of contemplative prayer and living out the spirit of the Beatitudes (ref. Matthew 5:3-12).
We announce the Gospel through the liturgy, beauty, music, art, working with young people, works of compassion, spiritual formation and accompaniment, and missionary activity.
In New Zealand, the Beatitudes Family is made up of the members of the Beatitudes Community, the affiliated members - Friends of the Lamb, and all those who share our life and spirituality.
Friends and Disciples of the Lamb
In the Beatitudes Family, young people, couples, single people, deacons and secular priests can live their daily lives according to the spirituality of the Community.
"They follow the Lamb where ever He goes!" Rev 14:6
The friends of the Lamb make an annual commitment, expressing their desire to lead a life of regular prayer based on the Community Liturgy and are committed to actively participating in the life and mission of the Community of the Beatitudes.
In New Zealand, the friends of the Lamb meet every month either in person or online. There are occasional days of formation and they participate in the major events and celebrations of the Community.
